Mexican Mocha Smoothie

Chocolate and double espresso smoothie for breakfast because it’s Friday and also because I’m an adult and also because we could all use a little pep in our step these days.

I usually only make smoothies if they include spinach or kale cause it makes me feel like I got a whole salad crammed into a sweet + smooth + filling snack. Plus I generally like to make a smoothie the kids will also sip. But this morning I was up at 5am with Rex again and found my freezer door had been left open all night. Luckily we didn’t lose too much food but I HATE food waste (energy waste isn’t so good either). So it’s a chocolate and coffee kind of morning. Love this organic cacao as an addition - no added sugar, low calorie, super rich. It also pairs extremely well with peanut butter in a smoothie. More on that soon.

Mexican Mocha Smoothie🍫

1 Frozen 🍌
1 Cup Ice
2 Shots Espresso
3/4 Cup Oat, Almond or Milk of Choice
2 Tbl Cacao Powder
Pinch of Kosher Salt
Pinch of Cinnamon (plus more for topping)
